On Sunday, August 20th, Mother nature cooperated and the overnight rains ended just in time for the Grand Opening celebration of the new Morash Park Pickleball courts in Dartmouth, NS. We would like to thank all of our local Pickleball players who came by to enjoy some friendly play and snack on some hot dogs, burgers and of course…some cake.
As well, a big thanks goes out from Lydia Bowie to all our players in attendance who were buying tickets and helped her raise $482.00 for the Lymphoma & Leukemia Society of Canada.
In addition to thanking the organizing committee of Paul Quinn, Dawn and Brent Hobson, Henny Rykers, Ginny Conrad and Pat Morrison, we wish to say thanks to Cathy Denault of Premium Pickleball who donated a new Onix paddle and some Onix balls that were given away as door prizes that day.
And of course, all of this wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of our local councillor for District 6 – Tony Mancini – and his work in securing the funds needed for the renovations as well as Tom Jangaard – the Parkland Planner for HRM Parks and Recreation – who was instrumental in the design and implementation of the project.
It wouldn’t be a party without cake!
