2021 Atlantic Region Volunteer of the Year Award

October 22, 2021

Ms. Angela Weld

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Dear Angela,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Pickleball Canada Organization and its 23,000 members,  we would like to recognize your efforts in developing the sport of pickleball in Canada.

Through your vision and commitment, you have provided leadership to the Board of Pickleball Nova Scotia and taken on the responsibility of the membership committee. This has resulted in strong growth by helping in the retention of current members and in the increase of new members.

You have also taken on the lead role of coordinating and training of officials. You even hosted referee training in your own home and organized on-court sessions with Brian and Julie Sribney from Alberta who came East in September to train and evaluate referees.

In addition to officiating, whenever there is a local event, you are the first to volunteer to help, and enthusiastically promote pickleball on behalf of both Pickleball Nova Scotia and Pickleball Canada.

Through your dedication and hard work, you have played a big part in building the foundation for the growth and development of our sport.

Here’s to you, Angela, for your outstanding contributions!

Thank you.

Best regards,

Karen Rust
